Guinevere by *tattereddreams is how I would imagine Guinevere to have appeared before her marriage to Arthur. Sweet, innocent, and unsuspecting of her future which would be torn between the man she married and the one she truly loved. A beautiful tribute to her legend.

Description

Guinevere -- derived from the Welsh-Gaelic for "white fairy" or "white ghost", King Arthur's queen consort from the Arthurian Legend, lover of Lancelot and later forced into a convent.

I've always thought Guinevere got the worst end of all the nonsense in the Arthurian legends. She was such a wonderful, independent woman, a Queen of the Summer Country in her own right and then men come along and kidnap her and claim her and all manner of other nonsense. And why is it so awful that she had an affair with Lancelot (who was dashing and lovely anyway)? Do you know who Arthur had an affair with? His sister. So there.

To me she seemed more the elusive white fairy, something more tied to nature and the etherial, trapped for the time being, but ultimately untamable and timeless.
