Masquerade Ball - Alice by JessiBeans Masquerade Ball - Alice by JessiBeans
CHOW #176 - Venetian Masquerade

Squeezing in some time for me painting in and around all the stuff I still can't show you yet. This was a Venetian Masquerade ball topic, plus it had to be a self portrait (literally and in terms of subject matter). So I decided I like Alice in Wonderland and the Marie Antoinette style clothes, and ran with it. I won this round, too, just in time for my birthday. :D

Process is here: [link]

About 9 hours, Photoshop CS4 and Intous 4.

I love how you did this! I love her mask especially, the inclusion of the rabbit's so creative.

What a gorgeous design, and I love the way you illustrate fabric! The cloak has the heaviness and plush of a crushed velvet, the skirt looks like polished cotton, and the sleeves hang like a light chiffon. I can certainly see why you won, your attention to detail and physics is incredible.
