I've been taking Sam Nielson's advanced lighting class, which is truly excellent ( [link]
), and this is one of my assignments. I was given a simple line drawing of the blue sphere, the glass cup and the grapes on a checkered plane, and then I had to paint it with a strong light source in order to understand the translucent properties of light (caustics, reflection and refraction, and sub-surface scattering). I tried to turn my composition into a table in a witch's cottage.
Pretty pleased with how this game out, but man did it bend my brain.
